SMU Associate Professor of Law Henry Gao commented on how Bo Xilai had offended the Communist Party of China. In Associate Prof Gao’s opinion, Mr Bo had stepped out of line with the central government at a crucial time of power transition, and he had campaigned publicly for a political seat while these kinds of campaigns were meant to be kept private.
