Camera phones allowed in 15 more SAF camps

MINDEF announced that servicemen will be allowed to take their camera phones to designated places in 15 more SAF camps starting from next month. The decision was made during a meeting with the Committee to Strengthen National Service (CSNS) which reviewed the feedback given during the first wave of public consultations conducted between May and this month. The first phase, described as “largely divergent” by SMU Office of Student Life Director and CSNS member Bervyn Lee, was designed to gather as much feedback as possible. The second phase of the public consultation, which will start on 30 August, will focus on gathering ideas to be considered for CSNS policy recommendations. Discussions at this phase will be more targeted, added Mr Lee.
