On the issues addressed during the National Day Rally, SMU Associate Professor of Law and NMP Eugene Tan said that: “The Government recognizes that it needs to spend more on issues that connect intimately to Singapore and who we are as Singaporeans.” He opined that the government has decided to acknowledge and act on the issues raised by its people, and that these attempts should not be seen as an election tactic.
