SMU Associate Professor of Psychology Norman Li, together with his research team, conducted a study on the requirements of local men and women when seeking partners. The findings from surveying 916 local tertiary students revealed that men were more focused on looks while women were more concerned about social status. The study was published in this month’s Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, an academic journal.
