In response to the new laws that defined legal parentage of children conceived through assisted reproduction technology (ART) to protect them from being parentless, SMU Associate Professor of Law and NMP Eugene Tan raised concerns about cases of surrogacy or in-vitro fertilisation performed overseas and questioned whether the new law is able to protect children under such circumstances.
