Good credentials, but disappointing in Parliament

Former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew launched his latest 400-page book One Man’s View of The World yesterday. In the book, Mr Lee said that Workers’ Party Member of Parliament Chen Show Mao disappointed in Parliament despite having stellar credentials. On this comment, Associate Professor of Law and political analyst Eugene Tan said that “voters are not too fixated with Mr Chen’s performance in Parliament”. This is because they are “more focused on their constituency work” and that “they also recognised that there are only seven elected opposition (members) in Parliament and they constitute a valuable, [but] limited impact”.
