On the appointment of former Cabinet Minister Lim Boon Heng, who lacked investment experience, as the new chairman of Temasek Holdings, SMU Associate Professor of Law Eugene Tan noted that "there's some legitimate basis" to such claims. However, Associate Prof Tan sees "his appointment as change amid continuity". Associate Prof Tan added that there's a sense of the need for renewal at Temasek but it needs also to reassure various stakeholders that there's not going to be any significant change in the investment strategy and approach.
