Preparing for the future

Starting January 2014, SMU will offer a new postgraduate degree programme, the Master of Science in Management (MM), at its Lee Kong Chian School of Business. First of its kind in Singapore, the one-year full-time programme is designed to prepare students for the business world, and will cover key knowledge areas such as business, management, international business and economics. SMU Professor of Strategic Management (Education) and MM Programme Director Stephen Matthias Harney said: "SMU decided to join this elite class of universities in offering a high-quality academically rigorous, intensive one-year degree as part of its planned expansion of postgraduate programmes." Targeting at graduates with a first degree in subject areas other than business and management, or those who do not have previous business experience, the programme intends to leverage on their undergraduate education by linking the knowledge from those fields to emerging business skills and trends.
