On MDA’s light touch over the launch of the online gay magazine, Element, by Epic Media, SMU Assistant Professor of Corporate Communication (Education) Michael Netzley said that the public generally doesn’t understand the difference between a light touch and no touch. “It depends on the reference points used. Singapore would appear to have a heavier touch compared to North America. But if we look at mainstream media and what people can get away with online, then it’s really a light touch.”
