SMU President Professor Arnoud De Meyer, a member of the panel of judges for the Channel NewsAsia Luminary Awards 2013, explained that the awards were not simply about recognition but that they set out to establish role models for other companies in terms of the careful use of resources, being mindful of the environment and being innovative.
