Insurance customers getting better quality and value

Both life and general insurers now have happier customers, going by the latest results of the Customer Satisfaction Index of Singapore. This is because customers perceive better quality and value from their insurance providers, of whom they also had higher expectations than they did a year ago, according to theInstitute of Service Excellence at SMU (ISES)"It is not a stretch for us to attribute this industry-wide improvement to the influence recent changes by the regulator has had on all insurers operating in Singapore," said ISES Academic Director Marcus Lee. "The MAS fair dealing guidelines, with its primary intent of pushing for customer education and understanding of their insurance-investment products, has led to many providers rolling out innovative consumer-friendly, customer-centric initiatives," he said, citing Great Eastern's customer insight generator "imaGEnation Studio" and NTUC's promise to "make insurance simple".
