NMP suggests that future re-drawing of election boundaries should be better explained

SMU Assistant Professor of Law and NMP Eugene Tan said that the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee (EBRC) should better explain the reasons for re-drawing election boundaries so as to win the trust of voters. Increasingly, Singaporeans were concerned with the fairness of elections and perceptions of unfairness were detrimental to the image of the People’s Action Party. In response, Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean said that population experts with depths of knowledge and experience were responsible for the re-drawing of boundaries, and that it is not feasible to provide an explanation for each change.
