SMU Assistant Professor of Law Eugene Tan commented that the concept of Desmond Lim’s “online rally” was quite interesting as there was nothing preventing a party from organising one so as to overcome the lack of funds and low turnout. Assistant Prof Tan said that while this was a creative idea, Desmond Lim would have to take care in demonstrating that he is a serious contender. Instead of the online rally, his time might have been better spent doing door-to-door visits and connecting with voters.
