On criticisms that People’s Action Party candidate Koh Poh Koon use of the phrase “Teochew nang, ka ki nang” (a Teochew phrase that suggests everyone is a kin) showed that he is narrow-minded and has a religious agenda, SMU Assistant Professor of Law Eugene Tan commented that it was Koh’s attempt to bridge the gap between the voters and himself, and that it should not be a problem unless netizens are highly sensitive.
