On People’s Action Party (PAP) candidate Koh Poh Koon, SMU Assistant Professor of Law Eugene Tan said that his young age would help him relate to the struggles of young parents and voters, while his humble beginnings would help voters relate to him. His multilingualism would help him relate better with the elderly voters, and the fact that he stays in a HDB flat is a plus point. However, whether Koh can win over voters would depend on his performance during his campaign. Assistant Prof Tan added that it was the right move for Teo Ser Luck to rally votes for Koh, and that PAP would need to balance the power play between voters and the party this time round.
