Salvos were fired from both sides of the Action Information Management (AIM) divide, with Ms Sylvia Lim, chairman of the Aljunied-Hougang Town Council (AHTC) and Ms Grace Fu, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, joining the fray. SMU Assistant Professor of Law and political commentator Eugene Tan said, “I don’t think it matters all that much whether it was AIM or AHTC who wanted to terminate the agreement, since the people may be concerned whether it was really in the best interest of the Aljunied residents, given that AIM is owned by PAP.”
