S-League football team Geylang United announced on Thursday that it was reverting to its old name Geylang International. The club also announced a new outreach programme. Starting this month, 20 SMU undergraduates will tutor Secondary 2 students from Bedok View Secondary School in English, mathematics and science. The club is also offering a scholarship, with money raised from its golf day, to their S-League and Prime League players to pay for their studies. Three players will be awarded a scholarship worth $2,500 each.
