The Law Society of Singapore and the Rajah & Tann Foundation have jointly launched “Project Schools” to provide training to secondary school teachers on basic legal knowledge specific to youngsters who are 14 years old and above to heighten their awareness of law. Under this arrangement, the Law Society and Rajah & Tann will collaborate with SMU and NUS to design a curriculum, as well as run a half-day course for 20 teachers from 13 participating secondary schools. Upon completion of the training, the teachers and their schools are free to decide on how best to impart the legal knowledge to the students through regular classes. It is anticipated that 7,000 students a year will benefit from this project.
