Chee Soon Juan unable to run for election, SPD to send candidates to vie for Punggol East

SMU Assistant Professor of Law and NMP Eugene Tan said that while it is good that the Singapore Democratic Party announced its intention to run for the by-election early, it would be detrimental to their image should they decide not to contest after consulting with other opposition parties. He also pointed out that Punggol East is also an unfamiliar constituency to SDP, and it would not be easy for them to win the trust of the voters.
