Professor Hoon Chang Yau launches book entitled “Chinese Identity in Post-Suharto Indonesia: Culture, Politics and Media”

SMU Assistant Professor of Asian Studies Hoon Chang Yau's book Chinese Identity in Post-Suharto Indonesia: Culture, Politics and Media focuses on how other ethnic groups in Indonesia view Indonesian Chinese and vice versa.It reminds Indonesian-Chinese to pay attention to certain issues, and emphasiss that they should integrate with other races. The book was recommended by Indonesia Shang Bao as a “must-read for all Indonesian-Chinese”.
