SMU Assistant Professor of Law and Nominated MP Eugene Tan commented on the Attorney-General's Chambers' (AGC) defence of the contempt of court law following Alex Au's “Woffles Wu case hits a nerve” blog posting. He sees it “as a reiterative, learning process” as the AGC strives to ensure that the laws are relevant in a new media environment. “There is the hope that bloggers like Alex Au will appreciate the legal intricacies and understand why these laws are in place,” he added.
