At the forum, SMU Vice President, Business Development & External Relations, Annie Koh posed the question, “If there is one thing that will derail China's impact on the world economy at this point in time looking forward, what would that one thing be?” Singapore Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Tharman Shanmugaratnam responded by referring to the unique family structure and parent-child relationship in China and the impact these could have on the country in light of an aging population.
