On the extension of F1 Singapore Grand Prix, SMU Lee Kong Chian School of Business Associate Dean, General Management Programmes, Professor Srinivas K. Reddy, said that with the F1 weekend attracting a well-heeled crowd, there is potential to tap into new markets. The first group would comprise people from India and China, countries that are showing an increasing interest in F1. The second would be families, and Professor Reddy said that the race packages could include family-oriented attractions such as Universal Studios Singapore and the upcoming River Safari.
