Heir to NTUC Sec-Gen, Ong Ye Kung reported to have resigned from labour movement to join private sector

Commenting on the issue, SMU Assistant Professor of Law Eugene Tan commented that by joining the private sector, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) Ong Ye Kung would get an opportunity to broaden his horizons. However, as he has been groomed as the heir to the top post in NTUC, resigning at this juncture could mean that politics has now taken a back seat in Mr Ong's priorities.
