SMU graduate, 27-year-old Ms Nurulasyiqah Binte Mohammmad Taha, who overcame her medical condition of spinal muscular atrophy and who became one of Singapore's boccia paralympians, has won several awards, including coming in first at the 2011 National Disability League. Nurul has also excelled in her studies. She studied at RGS and then went on to NJC, eventually graduating with a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree from SMU. Minister of State for Community Development, Youth and Sports Halimah Yacob cited her during last night's National Day Rally.
