Singapore a popular destination for overseas studies

Singapore, with its four public-funded universities in Singapore – NUS, NTU, SMU and SUTD – is a popular destination for overseas study by students from China. 80 per cent of the postgraduate students at NUS and NTU are from China. There is a growing concern with regards to the large numbers of Chinese students heading overseas for their studies. According to Education International Cooperation Group, 70 per cent are secondary school students, 10 per cent are pre-schoolers and primary school students, and 20 per cent are tertiary students.
