Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth – ‘sports' and ‘arts' dropped; no longer a key focus?

Political analyst and SMU Assistant Professor of Law Eugene Tan said that a Ministry's name may not encompass every aspect of work for which it is responsible, thus it is too preliminary to assume that sports and the arts will be neglected. He pointed out that in the last few years, the Government has funded several infrastructural projects for sports and the arts, such is an indication that it will continue to develop these areas. “Active promotion of sports and the arts is more than a personal pursuit, they also play a significant role in the development of Singapore's culture.”
