The inspiration of a new bamboo bike design came from an SMU student [Sun Soon] . This student had invented a bamboo bike and had travelled on it from The Republic of Kazakhstan back to Singapore. The SMU student [Sun Soon] shared his idea with the interviewee Xie Qingyuan and the two invented the bamboo bicycles together. Xie intends to modify the bicycles and produce 100 of them (limited editions).
