Shoppers are less pleased with the retailers they buy from than they were a year ago, the latest CSISG for Retail shows. To be fair to department stores, supermarkets, fashion, jewellery and other retailers, excluding car buyers whose sunken satisfaction levels skewed the latest index heavily downwards, Retail's score showed no statistically significant change. But no change also means that the steady improvement over 2010 and 2011, which sent Retail's CSISG score to its high of 70.6 last year, has come to a temporary halt. ISES compiled the Retail index on 608 retailers from 6,600 face-to-face interviews conducted with either Singapore residents or departing tourists at Changi Airport between January and March this year.
