Political observers: 2 days to by-election, both parties may launch attacks

SMU Assistant Professor of Law Eugene Tan shared that the NCMP saga may become the hot topic for discussion in the rally. PAP should tread carefully in their choice of words and political angles to prevent misleading the public into thinking that the by-election resulted solely because of the saga. Prof Tan speculated that the WP should assure voters of its ability to implement expansion plans and catalyse change in the country, as well as respond to DPM's criticisms. In contrast, PAP should communicate its ability to implement upgrading schemes, and the government's responsiveness in listening and acting on voters' concerns, besides questioning the credibility of WP.
