SMU Assistant Professor of Law Eugene Tan was of the opinion that both the Workers' Party (WP) and People's Action Party (PAP) will cash in on their rallies tonight to emphasise the strengths of their candidates. He said that WP will stress that with one more candidate in parliament, the additional representation will give WP the endorsement to better serve citizens. Some attention will also be given to their response to Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean's critique of the party's honesty. On the other hand, Prof Tan predicted that the PAP will remind voters that the government has heard their concerns and will develop more policies to address them. They are also likely to have PAP heavy weights render support for their candidate Desmond Choo tonight.
