SUTD will begin classes next week with only two-thirds of its target student population at 340, falling short of the 500 students the school had initially projected for its inaugural class. Although the make-up of students will comprise one foreigner among every four students in the initial cohort, SUTD President Thomas Magnanti said ?no deserving Singaporean? was deprived of a place because of foreign students. The cut-off ratio is one foreigner among every five students at NUS, NTU and SMU.
