SMU Assistant Professor of Corporate Communication Michael Netzley discussed the differences between traditional and citizen journalism. He cited a recent study by Singapore Polytechnic to show that there is currently an increase in the number of people willing to share content, which constitutes what citizen journalism is about. In last year's general election, he also observed that more and more people are willing to speak out with their real identity, taking ownership of this content.
