Assistant Professor Jack Lee from SMU School of Law commented that Yaw Shin Leong's expulsion from WP was not the same as the case when Chiam See Tong was also expelled from SDP back in 1993. Chiam managed to save his MP seat by applying to High Court and staged a comeback later on.
