Assistant Professor of Law at SMU and Nominated MP Eugene Tan commented on the social mobility in Singapore, in an article about Budget 2012. He said that rising inequality ?causes declining equality of opportunities, and runs the risk of political backlash and social instability. Both could undermine the economic dynamism that is much desired.?
