Music concert tickets cost too much, said local music fans. The pop music concert scene in Singapore had been exciting, with a packed concert calendar through next month, including shows by arena rockers Foo Fighters and the eclectic indie Laneway Festival. Many of the music fans in their late teens to early 30s could not afford to attend all the shows they wanted to see among the large roster of acts which appealed to them. A common reason they cited was high ticket prices. SMU student Lorraine Loh had to give indie pop band Foster The People's concert last month a miss as she felt the tickets, priced at $88 each, were too costly. She added that the tickets to Foo Fighters and South Korean boyband, Beast, were too expensive to even consider.
