SMU and The Singapore Sailing Federation will co-organise many events and courses to promote keelboat sailing. Ms Er Zixian, SMU alumnus working at SSF commented that in the past, SSF's focus was on the smaller sailing boats, but under the new MOU, SSF can leverage on SMU's experience in keelboat sailing to promote the sport to tertiary students. Mr Chung Peiquan, an SMU sailing club member will help to organise the new Asia-Pacific Match Racing Student Cup. SMU is the only university in South-east Asia to have keelboat sailing.
