Responding to questions at a forum organised by SMU on Tuesday, Education Minister Heng Swee Keat said the expansion of the university sector would not lead to a dilution in the value of degrees. He said that a university education is more than just a paper qualification. More importantly, its value lies in the qualities that students acquire which will help them succeed later in life. He added that private sector CEOs often hire graduates who have integrity, confidence and drive.
