Commenting on the scandal, SMU Assistant Professor of Law Eugene Tan is of the opinion that it is unlikely the Workers Party will respond to the rumour, as it surely does not need such unnecessary or negative publicity. The party would be hoping that the controversy surrounding Yaw and a married female party cadre could soon be quelled.
