Undergraduate Chuah Sun Soon has cycled more than 6,000km across Central Asia on a bicycle made from bamboo ? one he crafted by himself. The 26-year-old, who is studying business management at the SMU, says that the idea of a bamboo bicycle came to him seven years ago after he saw a bamboo pole laden with wet laundry hanging out to dry. He has since made two more bicycles for a Nanyang Technological University Ideas Inc business challenge, which led to him being awarded the most socially impactful start-up title.
