Massive pay cuts by the Singapore Government

Political observer and SMU Assistant Professor of Law Eugene Tan said that it is premature at this juncture to discuss the impact of the Committee's recommendations for the ministerial salary review. However, two possibilities could arise as a result:  1) the pay reductions will make it more different for the Government to attract top-notch talents for political careers; and 2) the exercise will enable the Government to attract those who are capable and have a strong commitment to serve the country and people.
