A committee looking into providing more university places for Singaporeans will study the possibility of allowing students pursuing degrees in private institutions to use a national service cash award to pay for their fees. Currently, national servicemen can use cash credited into their Post Secondary Education Account for degree courses at NUS, NTU, SMU, SUTD, Singapore Institute of Technology and SIM University, as well as diploma programmes at selected institutions.
