The Ministry of Home Affairs asserts that the Internal Security Act is crucial as a measure of last resort for the preservation of Singapore's national security. Asst Prof Eugene Tan said political buy-in for the continued retention of the ISA remains crucial and he expects the act will be discussed by political parties and civil society when Parliament convenes next month.
