While the campaign period for the presidential election can be between nine and 55 days, Asst Prof Eugene Tan says it has traditionally been kept at nine days. With the writ expected out on 3 Aug, he says nomination day will likely be on the 17th . After nine days of campaigning and one cooling-off day, the electorate will get to vote on 27 Aug.
