Opposition party candidates prefer to stand for elections in their own area of residence

Opposition party candidates prefer the familiarity of running for their own wards. Political observers however, feel that there is a conflict of interest in MPs governing their own wards. Asst Prof Eugene Tan says that while it may be on familiar ground, their objectivity may be affected.
