More young Singaporeans are making their way to China to trace their roots and understand their heritage. One of them is Liang Jin Xuan, who first ventured to his ancestral town Guangdong in 2005. In 2007, as an undergraduate at SMU, he went on an exchange programme to the Shanghai Jiao Tong University. 27-year-old SMU graduate Ng Hailing saw firsthand the competitive advantage Singaporeans can have in China during her summer internship in Shanghai and Suzhou.
