Political observers weigh in on the chance of a “cooling down period” before the General Elections

Asst Prof Eugene Tan thinks it defeats the purpose of giving people the day before the General Elections off in order for them to rest and not think about politics. Ironically, he said, this will induce people to spend their public holiday reading up on the elections even more.
