Will the PAP lose power? What then? <em></em>

Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew said in a new book to be launched today that PAP will be voted out if it declines in quality and opposition fields a strong alternative. Comments Eugene Tan, Assistant Professor of Law at the Singapore Management University: “A change in government would be a keen test for our institutions and the electorate. A pertinent question is, with the PAP so dominant now in all facets of public life, will its losing power also mean systemic collapse? It’s important for us to develop a system that is inherently resilient, an operating system that can run not just on PAP software.”
