China's mainland ports are gaining in bunkering, but they are likely to remain behind Singapore and Hong Kong in that sector. Subangshu Dutt, chairman of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers in Singapore, who also lectures at the SMU's International Trading Institute, explained: ?China has some disadvantages because it's not really aiming to be a bunkering hub?, which will leave it a long way from overtaking Hong Kong as the world's second-biggest bunkering port by volume.
