References and interviews are key to scholarship selection

Academic and CCA records are among some qualities assessed by the Singapore Management University for its scholarships. The SMU does not run background checks on applicants but it conducts interviews with them to ensure they are suitable for scholarships. SMU scholars' applications will also be backed by references from their junior colleges and institutes.
